i’m carina, the owner, wedding + lifestyle photographer, and creator of captured + curated photo company. i love being able to share in the love and growth of individuals and am so thankful that i get to work with such amazing people!
based out of mechanicsville, ia, i’ve been shooting photography for over ten years now and believe my love for this art grows even larger each year. every time i start working with a client i have the same goal ahead of me, to make their photography session the smoothest and most fun they've had yet.

details help tell the story of your wedding and are often some of my clients' favorite images to include in albums + prints.
gather all your details before the day starts so i can photograph them quickly! this makes the getting-ready portions of the day go by much more smoothly, and it allows me to spend more time focusing on the spontaneous moments when everyone is together.
detail shot ideas, rings, jewelry, hair pieces, flowers, shoes, socks, cuff links, letters, gifts, two copies of the invitation, programs, printed pieces, and any unique items you treasure!
the engagement session

let’s face it, when we are feeling ourselves, you can read it on our faces, am i right ladies?! i want you feeling confident and beautiful during your session! if you want to get glammed up for your engagement session and don't know where to start just ask me!
location
add more personality to your photos by choosing the location of your session! whether it’s the local coffee shop or a local park where you first met your soon-to-be spouse, let me know if there is a place that is sentimental to you!
outfits
wear something that makes you feel comfortable and confident! patterns, bold colors, and accessories photograph really well. feel free to get creative with your wardrobe! i highly recommend rocking just one outfit so you can spend your time having fun.
scheduling
i typically like to do your engagement session 9-12 months before your wedding date so that you can get your save the dates out in time. i typically photograph engagement sessions monday - thursday, around 1.5 hours before sunset!
